ONLY CONNECT FESTIVAL OF SOUND 2017
BIT20 Ensemble + Øyvind Torvund + Kjetil Møster + Jørgen Træen
Øyvind Torvund premieres his new work The Exotica Album at Only Connect, written for Bergen's contemporary BIT20 Ensemble, with soloists Kjetil Møster and Jørgen Træen.
One of the major highlights of Only Connect 2016 was Øyvind Torvund’s commission for the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Sweet Pieces, an ecstatic combination of noise and orchestral music.
nyMusikk are excited to present, in collaboration with BIT20, Torvund’s compositional playfulness at work in his sequel piece The Exotica Album 19 May. The piece is written specially for the Bergen-based BIT20 Ensemble, with soloists Kjetil Møster and Jørgen Træen, conducted by Trond Madsen. The work is a collage of two concerts played at the same time, where BIT20 delivers dreamlike exotica compositions, while the duo Træen/Møster adds electronic abstract blip-textures and waves of noise.
The Exotica Album is commissioned by BIT20 Ensemble with suppport from Norsk Kulturråd.
