Music fair - Off The Page Oslo:
Nakama Records was founded as a musicians’ collective in 2015. The label arranges concerts and releases selected projects of the collective’s musicians, each of whom are connected to the expansive band Nakama. The term Nakama is Japanese and in Japanese writing written like: 仲間. The word itself can be translated into «peer» or «comrade», and sums up the philosophy of a non-hierarchic label with respect for each member’s musical agenda, but with a common goal to feed the world with creative, ground breaking, alternative music.
The label’s first release was «Nakama - Before the Storm», a conceptual approach to the phenomena of silence in improvised and composed music. As for 2016 the label will release 5 new albums starting off with a solo album with Christian Meaas Svendsen followed by a duo with Andreas Wildhagen and Andreas Røysum, then a new release with Nakama entitled «Grand Line» taking on the parameter «form» as a parent theme, a violin duo with Adrian Løseth Waade and Håkon Aase and lastly a solo/duo/trio-album featuring Ayumi Tanaka and one or two more pianists yet to be announced.
