All Ears conversation:
John Tilbury & Eddie Prévost
John Tilbury and Eddie Prévost in conversation with Rob Young about AMM, prior to the concert at Vulkan.
It is an honor to welcome John Tilbury back to the festival. As one of our time's greatest style creators and pioneers of contemporary music, Tilbury's piano style has developed through composers such as Christian Wolf, Morton Feldman, and not least through his cooperation with Cornelius Cardew and Keith Rowe. With AMM, along with Eddie Prévost, Tilbury helped create a new musical foundation for the generations to come.
English percussionist who is a founding member of AMM in London in 1965. About AMM he says, "we are searching for sounds and for the responses that attach two them, rather than thinking them up, preparing them and producing them." His workshops in improvised music has spread inspiration worldwide. Prévost continue "searching for sounds."
