Vernissage Rickhard/Melgaard at Henie Onstad:
Broken Reel 1
Ane Marthe Sørlien Holen and Kristine Tjøgersen will perform Broken Reel 1 (2010) by Lene Grenager at the exhibition opening of Rickhard/Melgaard at Henie Onstad Art Center. The piece was originally commissioned for percussionist Håkon Stene, supported by Norsk Kulturråd.
Lene Grenager is a Norwegian cellist and composer within contemporary music. She is a graduate of the Norwegian Academy of Music (1988-1993). She plays in the improvisation group SPUNK, the Lemur quartet and has a duo with the Swedish singer Sofia Jernberg. She has written works for Affinisensemble, Trio Alpaca and several other Norwegian and foreign ensembles. She is also active as a conductor. She is the recipient of Lindemanprisen (youth, 2002) and Statens arbeidsstipend (2002-04).
Ane Marthe Sørlien Holen is a percussionist focusing on contemporary music. She is a permanent member of percussion trio Pinquins and regularly engaged by other Norwegian ensembles. In 2014, she received the Norwegian Grammy (Spellemann) for the album The Forester with Susanna & Ensemble neoN.
Kristine Tjøgersen works as a clarinetist in ensemble neoN, asamisimasa, Polygon and WeDoMagic, and has collaborated with many Norwegian and foreign composers. She has a Masters degree from the Norwegian Academy of Music, specializing in contemporary music and new techniques for clarinet.
