Aisha Orazbayeva and
A unique musical and verbal encounter between three practitioners of contemporary music. Cellist and composer Tanja Orning invites us to join her for a concert and conversation with violinist Aisha Orazbayeva and guitarist Anders Førisdal.

Aisha Orazbayeva is a London-based violinist and composer born in Kazakhstan, renowned for her interpretations of contemporary music and her radical approach to old violin repertoire. She has released three critically acclaimed solo albums and has performed in venues such as New York’s Carnegie Hall. She has collaborated with Tim Etchells in the form of violin and spoken word improvisations. Orazbayeva has also created music for dance, theatre and film, and she is a member of ensembles Plus-Minus and Apartment House in London.
Anders Førisdal is a guitarist and composer with a Masters Degree on Aldo Clementi´s music. He has performed in a wide variety of ensembles such as Elision, Plus Minus, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic, in addition to his main group asamisimasa. He plays rare multi-string guitars and microtonal guitars and composers such as Brian Ferneyhough, Michael Finnissy, Klaus Lang and Ole Henrik Moe jr. have written works for him.
Tanja Orning is a renowned cellist and musicologist active in the fields of contemporary and experimental music, performing with groups such as asamisimasa, BOA trio, Dr.Ox, as well as her solo-project Cellotronics. Orning currently works as a Postdoctoral researcher at the Norwegian Academy of Music. She has commissioned and premiered approx. 80 chamber music and solo works, and has performed at festivals such as Darmstadt, Donaueschingen, Huddersfield and Ultima.
